Microsclerotherapy for the treatment of spider veins in the legs

Suitable For:

At Caroline Harris Appearance Medicine, we offer microsclerotherapy as an effective treatment for spider veins on the legs. Spider veins are small, dilated blood vessels that appear close to the skin's surface, often resembling a spider's web or tree branches. Microsclerotherapy involves the injection of a sclerosing agent into these spider veins, causing them to shrink and fade over time.

During the treatment, our skilled nurse uses a fine needle to inject the sclerosing solution directly into the affected veins. The solution irritates the lining of the veins, causing them to collapse and stick together. Over time, the body naturally absorbs the treated veins, and they gradually fade from view.

Microsclerotherapy is a minimally invasive procedure performed in our clinic. It is generally well-tolerated and does not require anesthesia. The duration of the treatment session depends on the number and size of the spider veins being treated.

After the procedure, you may experience mild discomfort, bruising, or swelling, but these side effects typically resolve quickly. It is recommended to wear compression stockings for at least one week following the treatment to aid in healing and optimize results.

The number of microsclerotherapy sessions needed varies for each individual, depending on the extent of the spider veins and desired results. Multiple treatment sessions are usually required, with intervals of six weeks between each session.

Microsclerotherapy has proven to be a safe and effective method for reducing the appearance of spider veins. Our experienced team will assess your condition and develop a personalised treatment plan to address your specific needs. Say goodbye to unwanted spider veins and regain confidence in your legs with our microsclerotherapy treatment.
